Did you know that Sofia’s favorite dessert is alfajores? Try this delicious recipe and cook with your family!
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 2 cups of cornstarch
- 2 cups of butter
- 1 cup of powdered sugar
- “Manjarblanco” or “dulce de leche”
Cooking tools:
- Measuring cups
- One sieve
- A roller
- One large bowl
- One small cup
- Two large baking tins
Instructions
Step 1
Put all the dry ingredients in a large bowl and sift them three times.
Step 2
Add the butter to the dry ingredients and knead them until you are left with a uniform dough. Then, add some flour to the table to avoid the dough from sticking and roll it, first using your hands and then the roller.
Step 3
Using a cookie cutter or a small cup, cut the dough in small circles.
Step 4
Grease the baking tin with butter and flour. Then, put in the circles you cut from the dough. Bake them at 350 degrees for approximately 12 minutes or until they are slightly golden.
Step 5
Once the “cookies” are done, let them cool and then add “dulce de leche” to one and cover it with another, forming a small “sandwich”. Lastly, sprinkle the alfajores with powdered sugar and enjoy!
